Embracing the legacy of an inspirational woman

This scholarship has been established in the loving memory of Ingrid Diesel, by her three daughters.  Ingrid sadly passed away from breast cancer in 2018. This project is a celebration of her life, her dedication to her family and the contribution she made to the local community. 

Ingrid was a significant business figure in the Garden Route area, being CEO of Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Resort for 15 years to 2005, and subsequently managing her own Golf Consulting and Events company until 2018.  She loved the game of golf, and was a finalist in South Africa’s Business Woman of the Year Award during her time at Fancourt.  Throughout her career Ingrid maintained a social conscience, working closely with organisations such as Child Welfare, The Sports Legend Trust and founding the Sister Sister charity, providing dignity to girls at school.

Behind the scenes was the wonderful, selfless, fun-loving personality of Ingrid.  Her smile and laugh would light up a room and her optimism and love of life was infectious.  She was generous and kind, and would do anything for her family. This is the legacy she leaves behind.
